Non è stato possibile identificare l'autore. Nel repertorio di Schidlof (1964, II, p. 525) è registrato un Oronzo Maldarello, napoletano di origine, attivo tra il 1830 e il 1850. Nel Thieme-Becker, è repertoriato un Maldarella, napoletano attivo verso il 1835 (XXIII, p. 589).
